ANTI RAGGING DAY CELEBRATION

UGC on July 5, 2023, has announced that it has decided that from this year Anti Ragging Day would be observed on 12th August followed by Anti Ragging Week from 12th August to 18th August and to adopt the following activities during the celebration of Anti Ragging Day Week:

1. Conduct various competitions such as slogan & essay writing, poster making, and logo designing on Anti Ragging and distribute certificates prizes to encourage the students/faculty/non-teaching staff to promote Anti Ragging.

2. Events like Anti-Ragging workshops, seminars and other creative avenues to spread the idea. T VCs, short films and documentary movies may be shown to students and faculty.


Onche college union, Anti ragging cell and IQAC Govt. College of Teacher Education, TVM has conducted Anti - Ragging Day celebration on 17th August 2023. Advocate Maya V, founder of clap for India was the chief guest of the session.


The official inaguration of the sesession was held at 10.00 AM. In the absence of the principal Dr. A V Sujith, the head of the English department Dr. Omanasheelan sir delivered the presidential address.
There was an n interactive session followed by the inauguration. The session was based on the topic "Ragging in Educational Institution: From Human Right Perspectives."

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. The purpose of the field trip is usually for observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. The department of English, Hindi, Tamil, Social Science and Sanskrit decided to go to Neyyar Dam, Kottoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre and Koyikal palace. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is played from 20 November to 18 December. 32 teams compete across 64 matches in the 22nd edition of the world cup. Going in an unpredictable way, this world cup drags the football lovers all over the world on the brink of suspense by offering breathtaking performances. Whole world is celebrating this world cup by organising various activities. As part of celebrating the world cup the Physical Education department of GCTE organised a Prediction C ontest on 25 November 2022 . All teaching and non teaching staffs, students of first and second year B.Ed actively participated in the contest.  Participants were asked to predict the four semi finalist teams, two finalist teams and the winning team of Qatar 2022 World cup. On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950. The first National Voters Day was observed on January 25, 2011, and ever since then, it has been observed on January 25 with a particular theme. This year will mark the 12th annual National Voters’ Day in 2023.  The National Voters Day 2023 celebration is done by the Indian government as a way to inspire young people to get involved in politics.
