International Yoga Day
Yoga is a traditional Indian physical, mental, and spiritual discipline. The Sanskrit term for "yoga" means "to join" or "to unite," signifying the integration of the body and the mind.
The event got underway at 9:30 a.m. The prayer was recited by the first B-Ed Sanskrit student, Anakha P. Ajay. Reshma Rajesh, a first-year B-Ed Sanskrit student, hosted the meeting. The welcoming remarks were given by Rosh Kumar Sir, the department head of physical education. The presidential address was given by Dr. A.V. Sujith, the principal of GCTE. Devika and Reshma Rajesh presented thematic lectures on the value of yoga. The felicitation was given by Dr. Isaac Paul Sir, the head of the Commerce Department. Anakha gave the vote of gratitude.
As part of International Yoga Day, there was also a poster-making competition at 2 pm, with each department being divided into groups. The judges of the competition were Jolly Teacher and Dr. V.K. Santosh Kumar sir. With the participation of every student teacher, the poster creation competition ran quite smoothly.
Under the direction of Dr.
Rosh Kumar sir, Head of the Physical Education Department, there was also a yoga
practice area. It was really beneficial for all students.
