World music day is celebrated every year on the 21st June. The first World Music Day was observed in the year 1982 in France when people were urged to play music outdoors to participate in festivities. Since then, World Music Day has spread to other parts of the world and is now a global celebration of music. This day is designated to pay tribute to music, something which plays a significant role in everybody's life.

GCTE also celebrated World Music Day on 20 June 2023. It was conducted at 9:30 am in the General Hall 1 of the college. The general conveor of the program was Dr. A. V. Sujith, the principal of the college and the M.Ed student Vishnu Gopakumar was the student convenor.

 



The program began with a prayer song sung by Ms. Reshma Rajesh which later received much praise from the chief guest of the day. Mr. Praveen kumar, the college union chairman delivered the welcome speech. The program was inaugurated by the renowned Mridangam player Sri. Perukaav P.L. Sudheer. He is also the lecturer in Mridangam  at Sri Swathy Thirunal College of Music. He did a brilliant performance for us which was really mind blowing. Felicitations were given by  Santhosh sir and Kumar sir. This was followed by a musical performance by Mr. Anoop Gramika and Ms. Unnimaya Prasad. Mr. Nandhu J.S. filled the air with his violin performance. And this was the best part of the program as they took us to a world of music. With their melodious voice they captured our hearts. Ms. Keerthana Anil delivered the vote of thanks for the program.  After all these the students were also given chances to express their talent.

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. The purpose of the field trip is usually for observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. The department of English, Hindi, Tamil, Social Science and Sanskrit decided to go to Neyyar Dam, Kottoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre and Koyikal palace. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is played from 20 November to 18 December. 32 teams compete across 64 matches in the 22nd edition of the world cup. Going in an unpredictable way, this world cup drags the football lovers all over the world on the brink of suspense by offering breathtaking performances. Whole world is celebrating this world cup by organising various activities. As part of celebrating the world cup the Physical Education department of GCTE organised a Prediction C ontest on 25 November 2022 . All teaching and non teaching staffs, students of first and second year B.Ed actively participated in the contest.  Participants were asked to predict the four semi finalist teams, two finalist teams and the winning team of Qatar 2022 World cup. VOTERS' DAY OATH

On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950. The first National Voters Day was observed on January 25, 2011, and ever since then, it has been observed on January 25 with a particular theme. This year will mark the 12th annual National Voters’ Day in 2023.  The National Voters Day 2023 celebration is done by the Indian government as a way to inspire young people to get involved in politics.
