🇮🇳REMEMBERING MAHATMA: Gandhi Jayanti Celebration 2022🇮🇳

Every October 2, India celebrates the birth of Gandhiji, the father of our nation. This year our college celebrated it on October 7, 2022 and the program was named as "Remembering Mahatma." It was conducted by the First year M.Ed students. With her brilliant anchoring Saranya welcomed the Principal, teachers and the students taechers to the function. It started with a prayer sung by Salini. Abhijith delivered the welcome speech in which he talked about Gandhiji and his contributions towards the nation. It was followed by the presidential address by the honourable Pricipal Dr. Santhosh Kumar. With a few words he made us travel back to the time of Gandhi and ignited our mind with Gandhi's idea of Ramarajyam. He explained the reasons behind the secularistic ideas of Gandhiji and also presented him as one of the foremost person who raised his voice for the rights of women. Finally he made us feel guilty of not being born in Gandhian era. The program took a turn when Assistant Professor Jayakrishna told the felicitation. She pointed the growing significance of Gandhian philosophy and the need to practicd it in our daily lives. It was followed by the speech delivered by Reshma C.M. on the Relevance of Gandhian philosophy in the twenty-first century. Her speech was much simplified inorder to make everyone more clear about the core ideas. Finally the program ended with Vismaya V.P. delivering the vote of thanks to everyone.

After this, a small quiz competition was orgaised and the students of both B.Ed and M.Ed participated and after a series of 20 questions the first, second and third position was announced. The first position was secured by the students of second semester B.Ed, while Jessy & Devika and  Ancila & Sandya of first semester B.Ed secured the second and third place respectively.

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. The purpose of the field trip is usually for observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. The department of English, Hindi, Tamil, Social Science and Sanskrit decided to go to Neyyar Dam, Kottoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre and Koyikal palace. Going in an unpredictable way, this world cup drags the football lovers all over the world on the brink of suspense by offering breathtaking performances. Whole world is celebrating this world cup by organising various activities. As part of celebrating the world cup the Physical Education department of GCTE organised a Prediction C ontest on 25 November 2022 . All teaching and non teaching staffs, students of first and second year B.Ed actively participated in the contest.  Participants were asked to predict the four semi finalist teams, two finalist teams and the winning team of Qatar 2022 World cup. On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950. The first National Voters Day was observed on January 25, 2011, and ever since then, it has been observed on January 25 with a particular theme. This year will mark the 12th annual National Voters’ Day in 2023.  The National Voters Day 2023 celebration is done by the Indian government as a way to inspire young people to get involved in politics.
