Our First Association Hour (👩‍🎤🎶Ganamela👩‍🎤🎶)

On October 12, 2022, Wednesday, the first association hour for B.Ed 2022-24 batch was conducted from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. The program was a "Ganamela" and was organised by our seniors in association with IQAC. The audience including teachers and student-teachers got an opportunity to showcase their talents, come out of their safe zones and it further helped us to remove our stage fear to an extend. The program started with a prayer song and it was followed by solo songs sung by Reshma Rajesh, Arsha and Metilda Alphonse. The audience also witnessed some engaging and spectacular group songs sung by the students of First and second semester B.Ed and M.Ed students. From First semester B.Ed there were two group songs lead by Maria and Sruthy. The day also witnessed the inauguration of the "Pitch Out Band" led by M.Ed students. Unfortunately the participation from the part of boys was pathetic and except the solo sung by Vishnu. The program came to an end with the singing of National Anthem.

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. The purpose of the field trip is usually for observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. The department of English, Hindi, Tamil, Social Science and Sanskrit decided to go to Neyyar Dam, Kottoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre and Koyikal palace. Jayakrishna teacher of Hindi department, Kumar sir of Tamil department and Shaiba teacher of Sanskrit department and Santhosh sir of social science department accompanied us. Going in an unpredictable way, this world cup drags the football lovers all over the world on the brink of suspense by offering breathtaking performances. Whole world is celebrating this world cup by organising various activities. As part of celebrating the world cup the Physical Education department of GCTE organised a Prediction C ontest on 25 November 2022 . All teaching and non teaching staffs, students of first and second year B.Ed actively participated in the contest.  Participants were asked to predict the four semi finalist teams, two finalist teams and the winning team of Qatar 2022 World cup. On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950. The first National Voters Day was observed on January 25, 2011, and ever since then, it has been observed on January 25 with a particular theme. This year will mark the 12th annual National Voters’ Day in 2023.  The National Voters Day 2023 celebration is done by the Indian government as a way to inspire young people to get involved in politics.
