PHASE 2- DAY 6

On 19-06-2024, Wednesday, 3rd hour, I was able to engage IX C students. The teacher decided to conduct an activity based lesson plan on that day. I chose the chapter "Dreams Realised" from the 2nd unit for the same.  Learners showed a great interest. They expressed their extreme happiness when they realised that they are not going to learn anything on that day. Teacher understood the learners lack of interest towards studies.

Even though the introduction to activity based lesson was welcoming, the learners expressed their discomfort to leave their friends and to join another group. So the teacher decided to form 4 groups with 8 members each with the help of random number selector. Even this created problems but the teacher was really enjoying their childish arguments and was able to resolve it easily. After the chart distribution, the teacher elaborated on the instructions and procedure to be followed while preparing posters. Since the students of 9C had a special talent in drawing the teacher did the activity lesson with much expectationAs a second activity, teacher acquainted the learners with some popular slogans using powerpoint slides. This created a havoc in the class, as many students raised the slogans. Poornima even jumped out of her seat to enact the same. After the explanation of the things to be kept in mind enough time was provided to the learners. As time went by, colours danced in the charts. Towards the end of the period, all groups enacted the slogans by marching in the class in the name of rehersal which the teacher enjoyed. Though the groups displayed the posters upto where they have done; they asked the teacher to grant them some more time. The class was a fun-filled one.

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. The purpose of the field trip is usually for observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. The department of English, Hindi, Tamil, Social Science and Sanskrit decided to go to Neyyar Dam, Kottoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre and Koyikal palace. On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950.
