PHASE 2 - DAY 31
On 26-07-2024, Friday, 3rd period I engaged 8B studente and we were able to continue the lesson A Shipwrecked Sailor by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I was able to observe that the students of 8B were studious and sometimes they ever san before the teacher with the help of other guides to know the story. Moreover some studious students who had tuitions shout the upcoming story which many a times earlier had broken the learning experience and curiosity of other students. In this class also teacher sensed a similar kind of tendency and decided to prohibit any such movements from the learners.
In the introductory session, teachir asked the learners to tell the name of their favourite character from the story and Yashodha said the names of Castello and Carabello upon which the teacher asked her to explain the reason. I was to hear her language as she exhibited a good deal of mastery over English. Since she belonged to Nepal, her command over English and dindi was quite appreciable. Teacher chose the word 'stupefied' as the word of the day. During the compre- hension teachu asked the questions randomly and to the surprise of the teacha Meera, gave a detailed explana tion of the sun and the wind, though full of grammar mistakes. I felt really happy for the effort she made. But I found the learners struggling with the discourse of speech, preparation upon which the teacher provided them with the speech she had prepared. I realised the need to provide discourses based on the ability levels of the deamers Overall the class went good with the co-operation of the learners.
