PHASE 2- DAY 30

On 25-07-2024, Thursday, 7th hour, I engaged 9 C students. As planned earlier I took my innovative lesson plan on Idioms. In the introductory session teacher asked them whether they are on cloud nine to which they replied that they were in 9C with this comic elief the class began. In the first phase of presentation teacher used film clips to familiause the leainen cath idionas. Since the teacher had earlier experiences of using films clips as teaching aid, she ensured that none of the film clips excited the learners. Learners shaved great enthusiasm but the videos of death made them some what dull. Learners were able to recognise all the movies and they were easily able to identify the meanings of the idioms. The films KGF, Manjumal Boys and Varshagalk, Shesham excited the learnus but the teacher was able tomanage the class I sicalised that the ability of the learners to retain the idioms when taught using film clips was high.

In the practice session, teacher created an idiom pictionary using powerpoint slides to make the decipher the meaning of the idiom from the images. This group activity created great enthusiasm in the learners and they realised that there is a great disparity between the literal and idiomatic expressions. Though the learners engaged themselves in the group activity they were very reluctant to read it before the class They were ready to read it as a team which exhibited that they lack confidence. the discourse created a laughter mania as they created conversations from the different idioms. Nithya's group showed a serious attitude towards the discourse which the teacher appreciated. The learners though reluctant to present the comersation in the class, they read it out Overall the teachu war satisfied as the learners were able to recollect the idioms
