PHASE 2 - DAY 22

On 11-07-2024, Thursday, I was able to engage 90 students during the tth hour. We were able to continue with the story "The Toilet". I checked the assignment- diary entry which I have given them the previous day. Many students confessed that they wrote their own experiences and the teacher made Swapna and Abhirami read it in the class. With the help of this I was able to make a smooth transition into the remaining story.

The teacher demonstration of the word tiptoe' made the students do the same. I also selected the word apology' as the Word of the Day". I realised the gradual improvement of the students' vocabulary with the introduction of the 'Word of Day initiative. During the comprehension session the learners expressed their sympathy for the narrator. During the loud reading teacher made Swapna and Sneha read and I realised that the word recognition of Sneha has some- what improved. Teacher also found Sabaing struggling to read and the teacher decided to give her repeated reading drills.

For the discourse session, teacher chose the topic Reasons for the low performance in students" for write up Since they were much familiar and experienced with the topic, they were able to add more points to the web diagram. Teacher also shared some useful study habits and study- tricks like acronyms and mnemonics. I also gave guided practice to those needed. The teacher was happy when she observed improvement in the writing skill of the learners The class went good with the co-operation of the learners I also conducted achievement test for IX C students during the 2nd hour ichen I got substitution.

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. The purpose of the field trip is usually for observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950.
