PHASE 2 - DAY 21

On 10-07-2024, Wednesday, 3rd hour, I was able to engage 9 C students. We were able to continue with the chapter "The Toilet". The learners were not interested to learn as they had two long and continuous maths period. So I made them do a word game. Teacher was then able to make a smooth transition into the chapter.

I made Lavanya read the passage for loud reading. I understood that even though she had made a little improvement her pronunciation was no better. Teacher also identified another student Sneha to be very weak in word recognition ability. So I made Nithya and Swathy as their elbow partners. Since Sabarna was very weak in all the LSRW skill, I decided to give her extra training. Learners found the word study session quite interesting when the teacher demonstrated some words Poornima and Sneha imitated the action of the teacher Defying the rule of the teacher to answer the questions individually, the learners shouted the answers in groups. I found it really difficult to manage the class and decided to use some other techniques to reduce mass answering

Teacher chose the topic. "The Effects of Drug addiction on physical health" for the discourse session. I was happy when I realised that many students showed interest to create small paragraphs from the web diagram without the help of the teacher and I analysed it as a positive change. the class went good with the co-operation of the students.
