PHASE 2- DAY 20
On 09-07-2024, Tuesday, and hour, I was able to continue with paragraphs 7-9 from the chapter "The Toilet" im 90-Since the students were much interested in the chapter, the teacher was able to make the transition easier. I also realised that the earlier lesson 'Dream Realised was not so engaging to the learners since it was a mix of history and social science. Swathy and Nithya were able to describe the story in the target language and the teacher helped them in framing grammatically correct sentences. Teacher also found Poomima 1 imitating the tone and style of the teacher this made me realise the need and importance of geving repeated drills to the learners. During the word study session learners showed their excitement towards the word 'supper' when I showed the image of 'Last supper painting by Leonardo Da Vinci
During the comprehension session teacher asked the questions individually. Even though the learners were initially very reluctant to answer it, teacher made them answer with the help of scaffolding questions. During the discourse session, I did the intervention package for my project to improve the writing skill of the students. "Importance of Sports" was the topic I chose. I realised that the ability of the learners to create small paragraphs from the web diagram has drastically improved. I also gave them guided. practice. Teacher was able to understand that even though the learners showed inhibition towards reading and speaking, they were somewhat interested to write. Overall the class went good.
