PHASE 2 - DAY 13

On 28-06-2024, Friday, 4th hour, I was able to continue with the chapter "The Boy who Drew Cats" in 8B. The learners expressed their lethergic state to learn as they had a braindraining mathematics period earlier. So the teacher decided to do hangman game and I tactfully took the new words in the lesson plan. Since they were unaware of the same, they actively engaged themselves in the game. I also introduced the word 'tempt' as the word of the day. Teacher found this very effective also as she felt it easy to transact the lesson to everyone.

Mass answering is still the nature of the class. To improve their confidence and speaking and answering skills, teacher divided the class permanently into four  groups and instructed them to discuss  the question when it is asked. Even though this made them relax, their inhibition to open up before the class was very evident. But this created a positive impact as the students engaged themselves in discussions and came up with more beautiful answers.

Teacher was able to observe that the pronunciation of Nayana was much better than others in the class. Though she reads very silently, the teacher found her stress and accent as satisfying. I also assigned Nayana as the elbow partner of Laya, as I found the latter very weak in reading. The activity of the day was notice preparation. Even though the learners persuaded the teacher to make it a group activity, she encouraged them to give it an attempt. Teacher found the task of managing 8B during discourse part as a tedious one as they kept on discussing it with their friends. The notice was prepared with attractive pictures and as a whole the class went good with the participation of the students.
