On 26-06-2024, Wednesday, 3rd hour, I engaged 9C. I was able to complete the chapter "Dreams Realised". Teacher realised that the length of the chapter is very small when compared to the complexity it bore. Before the begining of the class, Arafa made a presentation of the words she wrote as the follow up activity. Teacher understood that many students neglected the same. Since there were a lot of new words, the learners expressed their difficulty. I also found the task a bit tedious and time consuming. As expected I was forced to stop the lesson plan in between as the bell rang. But to my surprise, the learners requested me to continue, as they wanted to get rid of the chapter as early as possible and we completed till word study. On that day I got substitution in 9C and we continued the chapter. During loud reading, teacher understood that the learners lack the habit of reading textbook at home.
Today, marked the third day of my intervention module. It is with much hope and great desire that I gave them guided practice. Teacher chose the topic "Values" for the same. Many students discussed the clues with the teacher individually. They showed a little improvement from their earlier stages; even though they were not fully able to excel in them. After the guided practice, teacher also explained to them how those ideas can be written in a more complex way, to which the learners replied that they are not interested. This made the teacher realise that though they liked to improve their writing skills, they would choose only the easiest path. Overall the class went good and I was able to complete my lesson plan as envisioned.
