PHASE 2 - DAY 4

On 15/06/2024, Saturday, the school had a regular working day till 12 in the noon with Tuesday's timetable. In the 2nd hour, I engaged 9C. I was able to discuss the next 3 stanzas of the poem "Nothing Twice" with the students. The teacher was doubtful as to whether the students were able to grasp the philosophical ideas articulated in the poem. Since the main objective of teaching poetry is to appreciate the poem, this always limited the teacher's role to an extend. In this class, to the surprise of the teacher Sabaina answered a question and the teacher gave enough appreciation. To improve their vocabulary the teacher decided to select one new word from the textbook as the 'Word of the Day' and the learners found it quiet interesting. Peachu selected the word 'bliss' as the word of the Day. The session went good and interesting after this. After familiarising the learners with the meaning and the example sentence, the learners were asked to create new sentences using the word 'bliss'. Teacher promised to rewrud those children who create more sentences.

During the comprehension session, the kaunes answered in groups even though the teachu compelled and encouraged them to muster the courage to open up. Aishwarya. J.S contemplated about the fleeting nature of the day when she said that the re-opening day of the school was colourful. The teacher also felt proud when the learners recollected the figures of speech simile and personification which she taught them in the first phase of internship. Teacher also introduced the figure of speech imagery to them. The group work of proverb expansion created more exciting moments in the class. The teacher was satisfied. It was a half-day due to PSC examination.

On 11 January 2023, the General Hall 2 of GCTE witnessed, oath taking of the new college union. This program was postponed to this date due to school induction program and other functions at the college. It was conducted immediately after our assembly around 9: 45 am. Our principal Dr. V. K. Santhosh Kumar sir, Vice Principal Dr. Jolly S, other teachers and the students of B.Ed and M.Ed were present throughout the function. Our principal inaugurated the ceremony and delivered the inaugural address. Principal gave some important instructions, reminded the duties of the union, gave a glimpse of the activities of the earlier union and also greeted the newly elected leaders. This was followed by the felicitation by the Vice Principal in which she shared her experience as a teacher along with some suggestions and greetings. Rosh kumar sir, the Physical Education trainer of GCTE gave some general instruction about the procedures to be followed while taking the oath. H

CHIRANTHANA- DAY 1

  The community living camp of the academic year 2023-2024 began on February 12, 2024. The first session of our camp “Chiranthana” was held at the general hall 2 of GCTE, Thycaud. Al the students, teachers and the camp coordinators Ms. Asha Krishnan, Ms. Sreeja and Ms. Anju assembled for the first session titled “Earn while you Learn : Socially Useful Productive Work”. Under the leadership of the resource persons Sri. Ummer and Sri. Sukumaran, students prepared lotion and hand wash. We collected bottles for filling the lotion and by this act we tried to reuse the plastic bottles found in our surroundings, thus resonating the theme of sustainable development. Thus, the preparation of the socially useful productive activities in the community and to acquire the knowledge of the source of various raw materials and different tools and equipment used in the production of goods and services.
