PHASE 1 - DAY 38

On 14-12-2023, Thursday, I had no classes to engage since it was the second examination. We were busy doing the record works. In the afternoon I had examination duty. On that day both 8th std and 9th std had English exam. I saw the question paper and felt very happy. Students were  very happy after the exam. I visited  them in the examination hall and their smiling faces made me very satisfactory. In the afternoon I was the invigilator of Room no 5. I found the 6th and 7th std students very difficult  to manage.  They were constantly asking answers to their friends. I was able to understand the difficully in doing the task of invigilation. Another difficully I found was that 7th standard students had Hindi exams on that day and many students asked me the meaning of the questions and the difficult words which the teacher was totally unaware. Though the teacher was able to read Hindi, she was not clear about the meaning of the words. At every moment, teacher asked doubts to another teacher in the next class.  Teacher took a strong decision to improve her language also. I was able to help the students writing English exam. After the examination, we collected the papers and handed it over to the teacher in-charge of examination duty. On this day I understood the difficully of an examiner especially in lower class students.

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. The purpose of the field trip is usually for observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. The department of English, Hindi, Tamil, Social Science and Sanskrit decided to go to Neyyar Dam, Kottoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre and Koyikal palace. As part of celebrating the world cup the Physical Education department of GCTE organised a Prediction C ontest on 25 November 2022 . All teaching and non teaching staffs, students of first and second year B.Ed actively participated in the contest.  Participants were asked to predict the four semi finalist teams, two finalist teams and the winning team of Qatar 2022 World cup. On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950.
