PHASE 1 -DAY 33

On 08-12-2023, Friday, 5th hour I had a session with IX A students. Since the chapter "The Trio" was over, teacher did the remedial lesson for them related to preposition of place. Many students made the preposition of time correct in the achievement test, so the teacher decided to diagnose their preposition of place and based on this teacher prepared the remedial lesson. 

Remedial teaching is used to help the students who are struggling with a particular subject area. Through this, teacher provided additional support, instruction and guidance to help the students overcome the difficulty.

When the analysis of the diagnostic test was done students scored low in the area of preposition of place especially related to 'in' and 'at'. Students had a confusion related to the concept and usage of 'at' and 'in'. Apart from that they had confusion related to the prepositions used before large place like country, city and town. Teacher made use of videos to create the awareness among students related to the topic. 

The activity-based comprehension was the major attraction. When students were engaged in team, their response was good and quickly but when questions are asked individually many students were slow to answer. But when given proper reinforcement and eliciting questions they responded in a satisfactory manner. The comprehension made sure that they are ready with the concept and they have learned the usage well. Worksheets were distributed by the teacher to ensure then understanding. Teacher then made some students teach the concept to others. This was also really effective. Overall, the session went well with the participation and support from the students.

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950.
