PHASE 1- DAY 30

On 5-12-2023, Tuesday, 6th hour I had a session with IX A students. The tr made the students do a small test paper on the topic "Preposition", as I found that many students made mistake in grammar part when the achievement test was conducted. Tr decided to conduct it as a diagnostic test.

After the test and an informal interaction with the learners, I continued the discussion on the chapter "The Trio". To make the introductory session more engaging teacher showed them an animated video related to the passages. This created much noise and discussion in the class as they were much involved in that video. Teacher then checked the previous knowledge of the leaners by asking some questions. Teacher understood that even though all the students in the class were listening to the teacher, many did not show an interest in answering the questions. It was very difficult for the teacher to make them respond. Teacher reading word study was done with the complete participation of the students. After familiarizing the learners with each new word, the teacher allowed them to work in groups and to construct new sentences out of the word. This was really effective as they got an opportunity to expand their vocabulary in a dynamic way. Comprehension of the passage was done effectively. Overall, the class went good with the participation of the students.

During the 8th hour, I engaged VIII C students Since it was the last hour, I made them watch the English animation of the play "The Merchant of Venice". Even though in the beginning they showed much interest, teacher understood that the English was difficult to follow. So, the teacher switched to another video with subtitles, and this really made the students more active and receptive. Teacher also found that some students were talking in between, so she paused the video in between and asked them questions regarding the same - Teacher found this really helpful.
