PHASE 1 - DAY 23

On 27-11-2023, Monday, 5th period, I was able to complete paragraph 3 of "The Trio" by R. K Narayan with 9A students. Students were able to relate to the passages of the chapter as it describes the happenings in a classroom. They showed much interest and sometimes they even shouted the answer and even enacted the situation in between the class. Since the classroom was very small and each one gets teachers attention, sometimes their expressions got little lowered. Aamina was very active in the class. Teacher found her as the energy capsule of the class. The session went good with the co-operation of the students. As instructed by the teacher, all the students submitted their notebook for correction. Tr was much surprised to see all the notebooks, but I was able to understand that notebook correction is a tedious task as the teacher needs to be very patient and careful. The handwriting of some students was good, but some student's books were Greek to me. I was able to find that they didnot mix up the notes of Nimmy tr and mine.

During the 7th period, I engaged 8C students and we continued the discussion on the chapter "The Merchant of Venice". With each and every passage, teacher was able to generate more interest of the learners in the story. Students actively participated in the activity session also.

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. The purpose of the field trip is usually for observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. The department of English, Hindi, Tamil, Social Science and Sanskrit decided to go to Neyyar Dam, Kottoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre and Koyikal palace. As part of celebrating the world cup the Physical Education department of GCTE organised a Prediction C ontest on 25 November 2022 . All teaching and non teaching staffs, students of first and second year B.Ed actively participated in the contest.  Participants were asked to predict the four semi finalist teams, two finalist teams and the winning team of Qatar 2022 World cup. On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950.
