PHASE 1 - Day 11
On 8-11-2023, Wednesday, 1st hour, I was able to discuss paragraphs 18-21 of "A Day in the Country" with 8 C students. They enquired about my absence the previous day which made the teacher realise that they actually love her. Students were engaging with the chapter well. For the word study, all words were explained, and the pictures related to them were shown. Teacher also gave example sentences and she felt it as a good practice to connect words to real situation. A team effort was there in the class. They helped each other in studying.
During the second hour, I engaged 9B student and we continued "The Jungle Air Crash". Teacher found it very simple to handle and teach them. They actively recollected the passages discussed in the previous class. The teacher identified some students inattentive and made them do the loud reading. The session went good with the co-operation of the students. In the 3rd also I continued "A Day in the Country" with 8 C students. The learners expressed their indifference when the teacher asked them to recollect the passages they have learned in the 1st hour. To make them interested, the teacher made them do small online language games. I found the students much involved in this and they participated in it without any kind of inhibition. After this small warm up activity we continued our lesson with ease.
In the last hour, I was able to complete the poem "On Killing A Tree" with 9A students. The students expressed their displeasure when they came to know that the teacher failed to collect specimen for that day. But the teacher was able to maintain the interest of the learners. They actively participated in the discussion about deforestation. As a whole, the class went good with the involvement of the students. Teacher started to gain confidence day by day.
