SFS (Students for Society)

Students For Society scheme was inaugurated on 23 June 2023 in Govt College of Teacher Education. Dr. Aswathy Srinivas IAS (Sub Collector, Thiruvananthapuram) inaugurated the SFS scheme in our college. There was an orientation about the SFS and there was an interactive session also to clarify our doubts.

Students For Society is a visionary move with a double pronged objective: to ensure sustainability of HEI by promoting value-based education and to create socially responsible citizens, thus ensuring to scaffold the mindset of the youth towards responsible societal contributions.

The different projects included in SFS Scheme are Project Arise, Project Aksharam, Project Ithal, Project Koottu, Project Neerurava, Project PRISM, Project Punchiri, Project Thalir and Project X

Our college was given the responsibility of Project Prism and Project Neerurava. The goal of Project Prism is to create a holistic climate program (for students from 5th to 10th standard) that integrates environment centric thinking into students' lives and actions. Neerurav, a joint venture project of Haritha Keralam Mission and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, targets soil conservation activities in specific watershed areas by formulating a master plan through research and planning activities by ensuring large-scale participation of local people.
