SUPW WORKSHOP DAY 2

Day 2 of the SUPW Workshop began at 1 : 30 in the General hall 2 of GCTE on 25th January 2023. Ummar sir gave us an interactive session. He talked about Gandhian ideas and the importance and need to making socially useful items. Sukumar sir and Ummar sir then began to make soap. They told each and every step and made it clear to us. They made all the students actively participate in the soap making. Everyone was thrilled, enthusiastic and participated actively through out the session.

Keerthana Anil and Krishna Kumar reflected on the experiences they had during those 2 days. Krishna Kumar became more determined and decided to teach other students and their parents soap making and lotion making as he found this to be a  source of income atleast for some families. Jayakrishna teacher the program co-ordinator thanked the resource persons and gave us an idea on the community work and the SUPW report that we need to submit. The session came to an end at 4 :15 pm with Amal rendering the vote of thanks.

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. The purpose of the field trip is usually for observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. The department of English, Hindi, Tamil, Social Science and Sanskrit decided to go to Neyyar Dam, Kottoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre and Koyikal palace. Jayakrishna teacher of Hindi department, Kumar sir of Tamil department and Shaiba teacher of Sanskrit department and Santhosh sir of social science department accompanied us. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is played from 20 November to 18 December. 32 teams compete across 64 matches in the 22nd edition of the world cup. Going in an unpredictable way, this world cup drags the football lovers all over the world on the brink of suspense by offering breathtaking performances. Whole world is celebrating this world cup by organising various activities. As part of celebrating the world cup the Physical Education department of GCTE organised a Prediction C ontest on 25 November 2022 . All teaching and non teaching staffs, students of first and second year B.Ed actively participated in the contest.  Participants were asked to predict the four semi finalist teams, two finalist teams and the winning team of Qatar 2022 World cup. VOTERS' DAY OATH

On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950. The first National Voters Day was observed on January 25, 2011, and ever since then, it has been observed on January 25 with a particular theme. This year will mark the 12th annual National Voters’ Day in 2023.  The National Voters Day 2023 celebration is done by the Indian government as a way to inspire young people to get involved in politics.
