CONSCIENTIZATION PROGRAMME: DEBATE COMPETITION

On December 9, 2022 the M.Ed students of GCTE organised the conscientization programme for the students of first semester B.Ed. The event began at 2: 30 pm in the General Hall. After the invocation done by Ms. Kadambari, a general introduction about conscientization programme was given by the seniors. Following this, the instructions of the debate competition was announced . Ms. Jessy was invited to act as the moderator. 20 students were selected and they were dividee into two groups. The topic of the debate was "Does the current education system is sufficient enough to meet the demands of the contemporary modern society ?" The team lead by Keerthana Anil choose to oppose the topic and the team lead by Krishna Kumar supported it. Asha teacher, Praveena teacher and Roshna teacher were the judges. Many issues and points were raised by both teams by taking instances from the contemporary trends prevailing in both education and society. After 50 minutes of debate, the audience was given the chance to express their views on the topic in which Bhagya, Sini and Keerthana raised their concerns. After this the results were announced in which the best performer from Team A was Keerthana Anil and from Team B was Krishna Kumar. The final winners were Team B who talked in favour of the topic. Judges also remarked the active participation of all members in Team B whereas only a few raised their opinions in Team A. The program came to an end by 3:45 pm.

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the second year B.Ed students of GCTE went for a field trip on 26 September 2023. This field trip was included in the community based practical programme of the second semester syllabus. The purpose of the field trip is usually for observation for education, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. The department of English, Hindi, Tamil, Social Science and Sanskrit decided to go to Neyyar Dam, Kottoor Elephant Rehabilitation Centre and Koyikal palace. Going in an unpredictable way, this world cup drags the football lovers all over the world on the brink of suspense by offering breathtaking performances. Whole world is celebrating this world cup by organising various activities. As part of celebrating the world cup the Physical Education department of GCTE organised a Prediction C ontest on 25 November 2022 . All teaching and non teaching staffs, students of first and second year B.Ed actively participated in the contest.  Participants were asked to predict the four semi finalist teams, two finalist teams and the winning team of Qatar 2022 World cup. On January 25, National Voters Day is observed to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created in 1950.
