KERALA SCHOOL SASTHROLSAVAM 2022

Kerala School Sasthrolsavam 2022-23, Thiruvananthapuram, South Education, Sub District  level was conducted at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Karamana on 18 October 2022. Sasthrolsavam is a combination of five variants such as Science Fair, Maths fair, Social science fair, Work Experience fair and IT fair. The objective of such a massive event is to nurture the talents of students in areas such as Science, Work Experience etc through the learning processes which would eventually benefit the whole society at large The Sasthrolsavam is organized by the State Education Department and includes students from Lower Primary to Secondary, Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary sections.
In this Southern district work experience competition we had an opportunity to volunteer various events and had an experience of being called as "teachers" by many children. After the  inauguration at 9:30 am competitions began. Students of various schools came for an overall of 35 events. Talented students showcased their abilities and impressed the judges and viewers. From Government College of Teacher Education, 37 students went there for the program  coordination and helped the organisers with much sincerity.

Anagha and I volunteered the badminton net making competition and it was a totally new experience. This event was conducted for LP, UP, HS and HSS category students. With much speed and flexibility the students made the net and I got an opportunity to interact with those kids and was fortunate enough to receive their love. Though it rained heavily in the morning, it was somewhat sunny when this competition was going on in the outdoors. We distributed the chest numbers and gave them the instructions to be followed. Since I used to do sports in my school days and beacuse of my love for it I totally enjoyed the event and was fascinated by the way students weave the net. This also enabled me to get a idea of the theories behind basket ball net making.

The students who volunteered other events like oragnic food making, bead work, vegetable printing, flower making, clay modelling, chalk making, doll making, coconut shell modelling, number chart,  still models, working models, agarbathi making, book binding, bamboo products, embroidery, fabric painting, paper craft, puppet making, umbrella making also got a wide variety of experiences. At 1 pm the competition came to an end and the judges came for the evalution. After that lunch was arranged for all the participants and volunteers.
